Ranga Yogeshwar

Ranga Yogeshwar is an experimental physicist and science journalist by training. He developed the science program Quarks for Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and is known for his analyses of sociopolitical issues. The science journalist already hosted science programs in the 1980s and is an expert in the field of science communication and deals with the social impact of scientific findings and innovation. He actively supports the RespectScience association.

Oliver Ruf

Prof. Dr. Oliver Ruf is a specialst on the field of media cultural sciences and holds the research professorship “Aesthetics of Communication” at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. In 2021, he founded the “Rhine Ruhr Center for Science Communication Research” (RRC) in cooperation with the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen, the Department of Science Journalism at TU Dortmund University and the Science Research Department of the Forum Internationale Wissenschaft at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Prof. Ruf supports the RespectScience team as an advisor on questions regarding communication, design, and funding opportunities.

Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim

Dr. Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim, who holds a doctorate in chemistry and is a science journalist, has accompanied RespectScience from the very start. Through her active time in research, she knows the challenges of doing science and doing science communication at the same time. Dr. Nguyen-Kim received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2020 for her educational work during the Corona pandemic with the science channel “mailab” on YouTube. In an advisory role regarding the science system, funding, science communication and journalism, she shares her experience and expertise with RespectScience. Additionally, she supports the association through outreach generation and networking.
